Art Competition Opened for the EU PRO Plus Programme Calendar for 2027, “Europe – My Story!”

The EU PRO Plus programme has launched a prize art competition on the theme “Europe – My Story!”, intended for secondary school students from 99 cities and municipalities in Šumadija and western, southern and eastern Serbia. The competition is traditionally organised with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia and the Ministry of European Integration, with the aim of encouraging young people to express their ideas, views and perspectives on the community in which they live through art.

This year’s theme invites young people to show what Europe means to them and where they recognise it in their everyday lives, in knowledge, solidarity, diversity, nature and cultural heritage, as well as in the positive changes to which the support of the European Union contributes in their communities. These may include better conditions in schools, improved public spaces, support for young people and entrepreneurs, or new opportunities for development and a better quality of life for citizens.

Students of all grades of secondary schools from the cities and municipalities covered by the EU PRO Plus programme are eligible to participate. Each student may submit one work of art, while schools may organise internal competitions and select up to ten works to be submitted to the competition.

Students, as well as the general public, will be able to vote online for their favourites among the 20 works previously selected by an internal jury. The voting will be organised on the EU PRO Plus programme website after the competition closes and it will last for five days. The artwork receiving the highest number of votes will receive an Audience Award and, together with the votes of representatives of the Delegation of the European Union, the Ministry of European Integration and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), which implements the EU PRO Plus programme, it will be taken into account in the selection of winning artworks.

The twelve best artworks will be featured on the pages of the EU PRO Plus programme calendar for 2027, while their authors will be awarded laptop computers, tablets and mobile phones. The mentors of the three first-place winners will receive tablets, while the school demonstrating the greatest commitment and quality in organising its internal competition will be awarded a laptop computer, a projector and accompanying equipment.

The artworks should be sent by post to UNOPS / EU PRO Plus, Skerlićeva 4, 11000 Belgrade, with the note “Art Competition”, by 5:00 p.m. on 23 October 2026.

All information and detailed competition rules are available on the EU PRO Plus programme website: Competition Rules for the EU PRO Plus Programme Art Competition for the 2027 Calendar.
