Today, Minister of European Integration Nemanja Starović met with the Ambassador of Ireland to the Republic of Serbia, Kevin Colgan, on the occasion of Ireland assuming the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The interlocutors discussed the priorities of the Irish Presidency, the continuation of Serbia's European integration process, as well as opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation.
Minister Starović reaffirmed Serbia's commitment to implementing reforms on its path towards European Union membership and expressed his expectation that the Irish Presidency would contribute to further advancement of the European Union's enlargement policy, as well as to tangible progress in Serbia's accession negotiations.
Ambassador Colgan emphasised that, during its Presidency, Ireland would be committed to strengthening the unity of the European Union and to continuing its support for candidate countries in their reform processes.
