"New technologies for a better world!" on the pages of the EU PRO Plus programme calendar for 2025

Nikolina Nešić, a student of the Grammar School from Leskovac, won the first prize in the Art calendar competition of the EU PRO Plus programme for 2025, while the second and third places were awarded to Milan Trujić from the Technical School in Zaječar and Milica Ranđelović from the Economic School from Pirot. The audience and the expert jury decided that their works best responded to this year's theme of the competition "New Technologies for a Better World!", while the School with a dormitory for students with impaired hearing and speech "11 May" from Jagodina was declared the best school at the competition.

This art competition, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) in Serbia and the Ministry of European Integration, has traditionally been organised for fifteen years in a row with the aim of encouraging creativity among young people and motivating them to be active members of their communities.

"The winners of this year's competition used their artistic talent as well as their knowledge of the digital world in which they are growing up, to show us that humanity and technology only make sense if they go hand in hand. It is important that we have understood the message of all the competition participants saying that young people are aware of the importance of responsible and safe behaviour on social networks, but also that they have a handful of ideas on how to improve the world around them by using the technologies of the future. First of all, when it comes to progress in strengthening values that are both European and ours - environmental protection, development of medicine, solidarity with vulnerable social groups, education", said Ivana Đurić, from the Ministry of European Integration.

As stated by Ana Stanković, project manager at the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, the art competition, which today is part of the "EU for you" campaign, represents one of the most beautiful traditions of cooperation between the Delegation of the European Union and Serbia on local development programmes that has been implemented for 15 years.

"We are proud that your twelve artworks  will adorn the official calendar of the Delegation of the European Union for 2025, because this calendar is not only a symbol of your creativity, but also a message about the common values we share, about sustainability, innovation and solidarity," said Ana Stanković while congratulating students and teachers on their success.

This year, 173 artworks from 38 high and grammar schools and from the territory covered by the programme were submitted to the competition, while the twelve best were selected by the votes of the jury and the audience. Therefore, on the pages of the calendar of the EU PRO Plus programme for the coming year, in addition to the first three awarded works, there will also be works of Sofija Vuković from Nova Varoš, Enes Imeri from Bujanovac, Anja Terzić and Mina Tomović from Kraljevo, Dora Rajković and Iva Zdravković from Niš, Julijana Sekulić from Valjevo, Adna Jašarević from Novi Pazar, and Ilija Veljković from Surdulica.
