Today, the Government of Serbia adopted a Decision to establish the Coordinating Body for Serbia’s accession process to the European Union.
The proposed solutions have introduced innovations and established a more comprehensive and clearer structure, defining the roles and relationships of working bodies.
The coordinating system includes the Coordinating Body, the Council of the Coordinating Body, and negotiating groups. The system is also planned to be supplemented by a Negotiation Support Team, which would be established by a separate government decision.
During the session, the texts of agreements on the financial instrument and loans, which serve as the legal basis for withdrawing funds from the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, were also aligned.
A Basis was established for concluding the Agreement on the Instrument between the European Union, represented by the European Commission, and Serbia, represented by the Government, concerning the rules for EU assistance within the Reform and Growth Facility. The text of the Agreement on rules for implementing EU financial assistance to Serbia under the Reform and Growth Facility was also adopted, according to the Ministry of European Integration.
According to the European Commission’s methodology, the first tranche, in the form of pre-financing, should amount to approximately EUR 112 million for Serbia. A total of EUR 1.58 billion will be available by the end of 2027 in the form of grants and loans.
