At the session held on 26 January 2006, Serbian Government adopted the Strategy for integrated border management, which is one of strategic documents for successful implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
On the one hand, EU standards that the Republic of Serbia is adopting by this document, as well as all financial investments in the system of integrated border management, represent the investment in our future membership in the European Union. On the other hand, the implementation of these standards provides Serbian population with certain degree of safety and creates preconditions for the development of economic activities and undisturbed foreign trade.
The strategy is based in the National Strategy of the Republic of Serbia for SCG’s accession to the European Union and reform processes in the country, primarily those enlisted in the European Partnership.
